This is grim. I did some research for @musdevnorth.bsky.social a couple of years ago - it found that lots of threats to collections were increasing, inc. theft but esp. climate & maintenance related. I suspect if we did it again now the position may have deteriorated on theft, too. 🥺 #Museums

Logged on today for an interesting @musdevnorth.bsky.social Elevenses session on AI and Museum Learning led by @shannenjjohnson.bsky.social @gem.org.uk. I've never knowingly used AI & been quite weary about how to use it but felt inspired so used Co-Pilot this afternoon for a work task.

Over history many people have moved in, out, and through North Craven in search of work or safety.

For #RefugeeWeek our display tells some of these stories - from the displaced residents of the village flooded to make Stocks Reservoir, to the German POWs who stayed long after World War II ended.

We're so pleased that you found the Carbon Literacy course useful @alexandrawoodall.bsky.social
Really useful - and thought-/action-provoking Museum Carbon Literacy training today with Alison Criddle from @musdevnorth.bsky.social @carbonliteracy.bsky.social
All the more urgent given the disregard for climate and nature crises by our government and global powers. No culture on a dead planet.

Thanks so much to @Musdevnorth.bsky.social for funding our CPD programme for volunteers at The Folly!

We ran four brilliant sessions and loved every minute of it.

Have you ever seen 16 people look so rapt as they make an acid-free tissue sausage?
