For anyone still unsure of how appalling this government’s immigration policy is – this is what the Nazis did this as people arrived at concentration camps.

🚨 SHOCKING 🚨

A HUGE illegal waste dump has appeared between the A34 and River Cherwell, linked to organised crime.

Every rainfall risks toxins washing into the river.

We’re calling on the Environment Agency & Cherwell Council to act NOW.

Our rivers cannot wait. 👇👇

I went to see Kae Tempest in Manchester last night and it was the most life-affirming wonderful show. He never stopped - so many words - and then he performed all the poems again. Reduced to tears. Jacob Alon was amazing too - utter vulnerability. First gig at the Albert Hall is one I’ll remember.

Relocated to other universities? Jesus.
Human Geography at Leicester is facing closure. Staff contracts are to end in June 2026; students are to be relocated to other universities, or taught out by a maximum of two (!) teaching-only staff. Other departments and subjects are facing closure, too. Please join the demo!

This is an absolute scandal - (and a brilliant piece of investigative journalism once again from @sheffieldtribune.bsky.social).
“It broke my heart, that was my savings towards a new car,” one woman who paid Milne tens of thousands of pounds told us. “He has just wiped me out.”

Who is Andrew Milne - the solicitor sending "very aggressive" letters to Sheffield homeowners?

2% success rate for the standard AHRC research grant. Absolutely bonkers.
After submitting a FOIA request UKRI, I obtained success rates by three grant call scheme and I can only say that I am disheartened by the results:

- AHRC Responsive Mode 2025: 2%
- ESRC New Investigator Grant 2025: 1%
- ESRC Research Grant Round 2025: 1%

Just retweeting my earlier question as still looking for the answer - does anyone at #Museums2025 know?
Are there any architects on here, or generally people who know what the feature on the bottom left of this image is. A sort of drainage archway perhaps? It’s on a Victorian former grammar school building with lots of similar holes! Many thanks.

This is an absolute travesty - the Zooarchaeology Collections at Sheffield don’t now have adequate storage, let alone accessibility - this is such a poor decision by university management and disregards the funding already granted externally that should enable the collections to be looked after.
