It's not that we might lose our jobs. It's that all of it will disappear or mutate beyond recognition. I worry we're not talking or thinking enough about this deeper sadness hiding behind our immediate anxieties and it's this heaviness that has us all at a breaking point.

I just missed my Bristol to Geneva flight for the #UNECEResourceManagement Week2025. Our coach was stuck in traffic on the A38 between Plymouth and Bristol for over 2.3 hours and was still about 40 minutes away from the airport 😕

Meta also used 3 of my publications😯Years ago, @AmazonUK stole my @durhamearthsci.bsky.social PhD thesis & listed it for sale on Kindle without my consent. I publicly requested that they remove it.Even though the university was aware that they had stolen multiple theses, they still got away with it😡

I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky
Just received an email saying that it's not advisable to include the following words in future applications for research funding to the US DOT. Here we are.
