I was later in usual answering this, because I knew I was going to the Museum with friends yesterday, so could also include a selfie with our *drumroll* Piper J-3 Cub!
One of the popular and iconic civilian planes, they're wonderful for basic flight training and stick and rudder flying at its best 😁

Good morning and Happy New Year y'all 🎉🎉🎉

I figured there's no better way to kick us off than with the type of airplane I started my flight training in :-)

Legit love that we have a beautiful example of one at the Museum. What's your guess? Would also love to hear anyone's stories about them too 👀

No post this week, mainly because I'm I'm traveling, but I am wishing a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and my best wishes for all.

Please enjoy Squatchie Claus catching a ride to visit gifts to all the good l'il Cryptids in its stead :-)

You need no special holiday or celebration to treat others with respect and compassion. If it is something you only practice at certain times, then you have misunderstood the reason for doing it. Every day is worthy of living honorably.

Congratulations to @gothcaptain.bsky.social and @sratoz.bsky.social for the correct identifications and @funranium.bsky.social for the correct descriptions :-)
While our X-15 is a model, it was the engineering model used for wind tunnel tests, and the F-101 is the very first production model!
Good morning! And welcome to a B&W twofer edition of #MuseumMysteryMonday!
These are both artifacts at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinnville, and I'd love to know your guesses for both of either. I'll answer Wednesday with a couple facts about make these both unique in their own way too!

Another #NavalAviationHistory artwork - Fairey Swordfish floatplane based aboard HMS Malaya in 1941. Swordfish served as spotting and reconnaissance aircraft for RN capital ships until replaced by the Supermarine Walrus

As with the Skyraider fine art prints are available, please reply if interested

Thank you to @spotto.bsky.social, @tqft.bsky.social, @sratoz.bsky.social, @poopraven.bsky.social, and @badbeard.bsky.social for playing along and your wonderful guesses!

This is indeed a Concorde, one of the most amazing aircraft ever built. I saw one at JFK's terminal once, but sadly never flying.
Today's #MuseumMysteryMonday is an iconic tail from the Museum of Flight. I look forward to your guesses in the comments! Answer coming Wednesday :-)

Congratulations @penwrites.bsky.social for nailing it record time!

This is indeed an F9F-8T Cougar in the lovely Blue Angel colors :-)
Welcome to another edition of #MuseumMysteryMonday on a *checks calendar* Tuesday. (Yesterday was a lot, y'all!)

I look forward to your guesses on this beast rocking some old school Blue Angel livery, and especially appreciate getting to reminisce about sunny days at the Museum too, lol

And literally everyone has already answered below, this is indeed the F-117 that Evergreen unveiled just last month.
This particular one dropped the first bombs of both Operation Just Cause and Desert Storm.
Here are some more shots of it too, it's anticipated to take 2 years to restore it!

Good morning all, and welcome to a very special edition of #MuseumMysteryMonday! This is our most recent acquisition at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum, it's going to need two years to fully restore, and is one of only nine currently displayed at civilian museums!

Let me know your guesses!
