it genuinely sucks that basically nothing on the internet works well anymore. search? barely works. social media? filled with garbage engagement-bait designed to game the algorithm. news websites? pages that refresh at random or so covered in video ads that it’s impossible to read stories

The main thing I’ve discovered since joining Bluesky is that I’m not really looking for a Twitter replacement.

I log into here once or twice a day and have a cursory scroll, but the itch I thought was there doesn’t appear to exist.

A small amount of credit due for saying the quiet part loud, I suppose.

It’s something tangible for social media marketers to point at when explaining why we can’t just spray links all over the place like it’s 2013.

I'm gonna give Bluesky a try but so far it's still dominated by what I can best describe as "theater kid energy" or "the vibes of an RA trying to organize a dorm activity"

As brat summer turns into autumn, brands continue to pump out 'we let Gen Z write the script' videos.

Many will identify this sort of thing as just a bit of fun, but I'm a bit more militant - pop culture trend chasing is a scourge on social media marketing.
