I’ve been on a BlueSky hiatus but better late than never to share our new-ish article on the green gentrification cycle!
Excited to share a new article about what attracts greening initiatives to gentrifying communities. We studied Chicago's Bloomingdale Trail and LA's Los Angeles River revitalization. We found that ongoing gentrification played a stronger role in attracting greening in Chicago than in LA.

ESRI is updating their basemaps automatically to incorporate The Gulf of America starting tomorrow 2/20.
Unrelatedly, here's a workflow that you can use to manually edit your vector basemap labels: www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/...

Esri Vector Basemaps provide the flexibility to make custom changes to map labels on the map by quickly editing the JSON through our VTSE.

If you, like me, are looking for an edifying distraction from the news, I recommend taking a scroll through the Geo Women+ starter pack: go.bsky.app/Ay1iTTe

I just learned about it (thanks @morganahcrowley.bsky.social!) and had a lovely scroll this morning to add more women to my feed 💙

Wealth in the U.S. is increasing concentrated in the hands of the few. My work with @dyligent.bsky.social & @joelsuss.bsky.social shows *where* the wealth is, which cities are the most unequal and how trends have evolved. My new piece for @theconversation.com brings you up to speed. bit.ly/40gqvoZ
Soaring wealth inequality has remade the map of American prosperity
The wealthiest areas in the US are almost 7 times richer than the poorest regions, a disparity that has nearly doubled since 1960.
