Paul’s at the forefront of American housing policy. Tying together YIMBYism, public finance, and public development, he’s building *the model* for American social housing.

Now he’s been appointed to Zohran’s Transition Committee on Housing. We at @publicenterprise.bsky.social couldn’t be prouder!

I’m a Boston resident but I work and spend a lot of time in Cambridge. I’ve come to know @burhanazeem.bsky.social as a dynamic political leader who knows how to get things done. He represents the future of urban civic leadership - an outstanding choice for Cambridge #mapoli voters.
For those voting in Cambridge's City Council elections, here's how I'd rank candidates:

#1 - Burhan Azeem
#2 - Marc McGovern
#3 - Dana Bullister
#4 - Ned Melanson
#5 - Patti Nolan
#6 - Sumbul Siddiqui
#7 - Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler

Don't rank: Simmons, Bisio, Hanratty, Hsu, Sherin, Wilson, Zusy

I am also ranking Burhan Azeem as my #1 choice. I agree with everything Josh says. And I've also personally been really impressed with Burhan's amazing combination of commitment to Cambridge, deep thoughtfulness about the issues it faces and pragmatism and inclusiveness in his approach to them.
I'll shortly write a longer post, but I just wanted to say that I'm ranking Burhan Azeem as my #1 City Council choice, largely because of his relentless and successful push to fix our city's housing policy (largely by eliminating zoning restrictions that drive up rents and sales prices).
For the first time in a generation, triple-deckers and affordable apartments are legal again in Cambridge.

Impossible? It wasn’t.
Inevitable? It’s wasn’t that either.
It was a choice.

Vote Burhan #1 on Nov 4th and keep choosing housing.

This study shows why Cambridge’s new multifamily zoning is so important for decreasing housing costs!
These results are relevant for policymakers concerned about renters’ displacement as the costs of housing rise. The findings suggest that not allowing more homes to be built—even for high-income residents—pushes up all rents, making it harder for low-income tenants to remain in their neighborhoods.

Recently a local paper published a piece on a City Council candidate that reads more like a campaign press release than reporting, without clearly labeling it as such.

A news piece on the candidate would at least mention he's a board member of a group that sued the city to rip out bike lanes.

We can’t stop the admin and we’re certainly not able to undo their harm.

But we can be roadblocks. From filibustering to suing to protesting at every over reach.

We need to SLOW THEM DOWN.

We need to make it through so we can rebuild after.
