Just got my new PEPCO elec bill from last month. My house used the same amount of energy as last August, but the price is more than 2x that month’s… are others in DC getting charged more than 21 cents/kWh for their electric this June??

The 2x cost already includes a 10% community solar discount

It only took 95 days to get to “arresting federal judges for defending due process.”

Hasanabi says “It’s not a trans person that’s your landlord. It’s not an undocumented immigrant that’s your landlord.” It’s true my landlord is literally Tim Cook

Second, this meant that the coalition we need to win had softened. I warned about this a month before Election Day 👇 4/

As someone who (barely) joined Bluesky before the recent explosion of users, there’s something really joyful about re-looking up all the people I wanted to follow a couple of weeks ago who have now made their way on here. Like bumping into old friends in a new town after leaving Twitter in 2021

Shout out to the United States, where gas, the transition fuel, is now emitting as much as coal did in the early 2010s

I’m sorry I just saw that Kristof headline about “working class pain” and I want to scream like why do we keep having to remind these guys that Black and brown people are more likely to be working class and still don’t support fascism

Really tired of “Trump won’t be that bad” people making the argument that he never weaponized DOJ against his enemies the first time around. He did. He was stopped by the very sort of institutionaliats he has vowed to purge from DOJ this time.

Trump Wanted to Order Justice Dept. to Prosecute Comey and Clinton (Published 2018)
The encounter was one of the most blatant examples yet of how President Trump views the typically independent Justice Department as a tool to be wielded against his political enemies.

It seems we are already losing sight of the fact that a handful of billionaires effectively turned our information ecosystem into a Superfund site, no one knows how to clean up the mess, and simply telling the truth and hoping people find it is woefully insufficient

For those who are mad and activated (good) my one hope is that you will look for the people already doing the work. You probably do not need to invent your own new organization or group. Find the people already doing it and join them, listen to them, learn from them.

All rational interpretation aside, I’m absolutely devastated that more than 50% of American voters want this. After everything.

Just unbelievable disgusting. A profoundly unwell nation of people with necrophilic values. A nation that’s pro-death.

Sometimes making lists helps me.

There is no one cause, there is no one answer.

The list of big terrible things is long. It’s also important to remember the small good things that are still here.
