Congress was denied entry to both the U.S. Department of Education and the Treasury, where Musk staffers blocked the doors. Along with its appropriations responsibilities, Congress holds oversight authority over federal agencies. Blocking congressional access to these agencies is illegal.

I realized today that Trump, Musk, DOGE, Vance, Miller, Vought and their many collaborators have broken so many laws already that they know they have to destroy our government and entire way of life to stay out of jail. This is all or nothing. We should respond accordingly.

When there weren't enough bank examiners on the beat, SVB and Signature Bank failed, requiring big bailouts.

The FDIC should explain why it’s now axing even more examiners whose job it is to make sure big banks don't crash our economy.

do you enjoy knowing that when you deposit money in a US bank, you won't lose that money? nice, right?

it's because bank deposits are insured by FDIC.

i don't know what FDIC ever did to these people, but apparently it too is now on their blow-it-up list:

So, if understand the circumstances and this reporting correctly, the inference to be drawn is that a former Alito clerk asked to have Trump call Alito so Trump could be assured that the clerk would be loyal to Trump despite the clerk’s having worked for … {checks notes} … Bill Barr??
How a Phone Call Drew Alito Into a Trump Loyalty Squabble

(association with Bill Barr is a roadblock to a job in the second Trump admin unless Trump personally okays an exception - a former top aide to Barr and clerk to Alito asked the latter to vouch for him)
