Hello, I’m from Gaza.
We’re living through hell
homes destroyed, memories erased, loved ones gone. Even the innocence of our children has been shattered.
Every bit of help—even a small donation—could save a life or rekindle a flicker of hope.

Thank you for remembering Gaza 😢🙏

People are very squeamish when it comes to criticising the BBC, because it’s been very successful in presenting itself as this rock in a storm, bastion of integrity and non bias. But it’s all marketing.

“What replaces the bbc could be worse” but what replaces it will be the same.

No shade on Joe, but it is notable how people who had deniability but were actively anti-trans have gone mask off like Emily Maitlis has here.

Marina Hyde being this weeks other example.

People notice:
I had no idea she was vile TERF. Ughh.

Their current (excellent) inclusion framework is based on 2 years of consultation, with over 250 athletes and stakeholders.

This alleged new change is based on... one presentation by one person?

Emily Maitlis not a doctor not trans not an expert in this field worked for ideological reasons to get healthcare for kids shut down, paid for by the licence fee - and she complains about ideological capture. Absolutely farcical

I can say with confidence, having not even watched the BBC, that no trans person has been on this week. There are two reasons I can do this:

1. The BBC never has any trans people on to discuss trans people or our rights or anything.
2. If a trans person was on, we'd have heard about it very loudly.

by the by I've said before and I'll say again - I don't agree with the "we need them kids off them screens" values of the boomers. screens are great for a plethora of reasons.

But if you do want kids off screens and making friends offline then you need to address the reasons they've 'retreated'.
ps. it is arguable that Brianna would not likely have turned to social media for friendships and transitional support had those things been readily available in her local area.

@charlotte2153.bsky.social you want kids like Brianna off her phone? then give them a better alternative.

and one more thing on this: I’ve no issue with journalists concentrating effort on stories they feel are important; but imagine, in *2020*, thinking the most important place to direct your efforts was ‘some kids are getting treatments I don’t really understand and I don’t like it’

one of the most depressing details about the Maitlis thing is that you’d be hard-pressed to have found any trans adults sticking up for the Tavistock, but still none of us would have wanted GIDS shut down.
