The list of regime demands issued to Columbia includes placing an entire (very distinguished) department—Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies (MESAAS)—in receivership.

Friends, we are but a half step away from a demand not to teach Course X or even to fire Tenured Professor Y.

I have an advent challenge for exhausted academics.

Take time each day to rest.

If 5 minutes is a challenge for you, then start there. I challenge you to take 20 minutes. You can work up to it.

Use a timer so you don't worry about how long it's been.

You can do this badly. Please try.
