Democrats should run on the fact that their opposition is literally killing Americans and destroying the country.

It’s not hyperbole. That’s the message they should be blasting out to media every day.

They are killing Americans and destroying the country. They hate our freedom. They hate democracy

In America, where irony is dead, a hotel chain uses a policy denying shelter to local people, for fear of accidentally housing homeless persons…

To deny a reservation to the author of a much-lauded book on how American economic unfairness forces working people into homelessness.
A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

If Republicans do resign to the point where dems are gifted a majority, it would behoove us, the represented, to do what we can to ensure Jeffries does not become speaker.

Eldest child started playing Roblox during quarantine and I thought it was fine, he didn't play it much. In 2021, however, I noticed a wide swath of gore driven experiences, including some based on Squid Game. That wasn't something I felt like contextualizing and that was the end of Roblox access.
Oh, God, this is one of those "where do I even start" things, because Roblox is, like, *fractally* fucked. They are terrible at content moderation. A lot of the games are rated incorrectly, so kids can encounter graphic content (sex or violence) out of nowhere --

This is one of my favorite paintings, from any painter, ever.

Not only is she crushing Mein Kampf, but the arc of her rivet gun's cable also evokes a serpent being crushed under her heel - even while the rivet gun herself is laid on her apron like Christ on the lap of the Virgin Mary.
I didn’t know until now that in the original Rosie the Riveter painting, she is crushing a copy of Mein Kampf under her foot. Happy feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, remembering all the women who crush the serpents of Satan under their heel.

Todd Blanche absolutely has a prohibitive conflict of interest acting as a lawyer for the United States of America and talking to Ghislaine Maxwell. Donald Trump is a very recent criminal defense client. The interests of Donald Trump and the United States are in conflict in questioning Maxwell./1
Whitehouse: "Let me mention first just how very bizarre it is that the Deputy AG is going out to do a witness interview. It really raises the question whether he's doing that in the role as Deputy AG, or if he's stepping back into his role as Trump criminal defense lawyer."

Flight has been delayed twice. Stated reason is lack of air traffic controllers. The efficiency is overwhelming.

Wondering how much this costs in economic activity as a direct result of lack of staffing.

I see some suggestions, in the reporting regarding the OMB impoundment order, that a mere delay in spending appropriated funds is legal. But that's not really true. The delay OMB has ordered specifically contradicts the Impoundment Control Act. A thread.
