I enjoyed reading this. I didn't know anything about Myers, but recognize that kickers in the NFL appear to turn over a lot. Roth does a nice job of explaining how/why.

All February, the ebook of KING BULLET—the book that was supposed to be the end of the Sandman Slim series—is on sale for $1.99 in all your favorite formats. (the absolutely last, I'm not kidding, for real final Sandman Slim novel, IN THE DEVIL WIND, will be out later this year)

From Visakan Veerasamy's blog on Nov 2021: "a lot of paradoxes might be best resolved with a sense of humor."

"Scylla Attacking The Ship Of Odysseus" painting by Roger Payne (Homer's "Odyssey"). Blog states "this is the heart of philosophy, all else is commentary."

I wrote a thing about men's incontinence underwear, because I think a lot of guys could use the info and I don't believe that there should be any shame or shyness around the subject.

This is coming from a place of love and support, but…

It’s ‘shoo-in,’ not ‘shoe-in.’

It’s ‘case in point,’ not ‘case and point.’

It’s ‘moot point,’ not ‘mute point.’

It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’

It’s ‘jibe with,' not 'jive with.'

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Nice piece in Defector by @seantcollins.com on AEW wrestling and the thrill of seeing joy in our kid's eyes after they've gone through a tough patch.

The description of wrestler Mina Shirakawa is spot on, as his descriptions of the characters in @aewontv.bsky.social.

maybe a longshot, but does anyone know ANYTHING about the Rygar mobile game from 2005. I can only find this screenshot and an old IGN article www.ign.com/articles/200...

Would love to know if this has been dumped or at least see any recorded footage.

Don't recall when I first heard of Crucial but suspect it was the mid 1990's when I worked for a small PC store. Crucial's RAM was well priced for our business' upgrades.

Since then I trusted the Crucial line, seeking them out for PC parts. Guess I didn't seek them often enough and will miss them.
The AI boom's impact on consumer RAM & storage pricing & availability claims another victim: Micron will shut down its Crucial line of consumer-focused products to prioritize "Micron-branded enterprise products" for AI data centers and other commercial purposes. investors.micron.com/news-release...

Another in an infrequent series of posts that Bluesky serves up where the pairing is good. In this case, it's a story by author @richardkadrey.bsky.social told in two posts.

For some reason, these were followed by a THIRD post by Mr. Kadrey. It was unrelated, though, unless his cat is a detective.

IMO nothing is more telling that cable is dying as an option than this news.

I was a huge TiVo enthusiast, having purchased their original product when it was initially released. Later, I used their DirecTV models as I built a time-delayed lifestyle. All SD, though. I ended my time when HD hit.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

Saw the band Garbage this week. Great show and I really enjoyed myself. I'm lucky to be in a place in my life where I can afford concerts for bands that I missed when I was younger.

The group was great. Tight music, as I expected, and lead singer Shirley Mason's voice was spot on. I left happy.

I find tech like this interesting from a historical perspective. I've seen standards come and go. Determining which will stick and grow as a standard (say, PCI) and which will die off (Micro Channel, AGP) is gun to look back on.

Will Mini SDs take off? No idea. Catch me in 2035. :)
