Even by my low expectations for Kemi Badenoch ‘violence against women and girls is something done by immigrants and nobody else’ has shocked me.
Dog-whistle and factually incorrect. Ladies, raise your hand if you were sexually assaulted by a boy at school? I’d wager this or a family member is most women’s first experience of sexual violence

If BBC News if factual and impartial, what is the purpose of BBC Verify, particularly such reports being added as special to BBC news programmes?

Ben Connor declines TeamGB selection as he’s asked to pay to race:
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athlet...

It’s part of a worsening problem:
run-ultra.com/news/funding...

At the core is a lack of lottery/gov funding & a headline sponsor that leaves no room at the table…

As an example of how the internet first makes things up and then amplifies it, this is a classic. Torpenhow is actually in Cumbria, not Wales. But the key thing is that before this meme went viral - as it does periodically - there was no hill known as Torpenhow Hill.
The Welsh told the Saxons this hill was called "pen" (meaning "hill"). The Saxons added their word for hill, "tor," and called it Torpen (hill hill).

Later the Norse added their world for hill. So it became Torpen Haugr (Hill Hill Hill).

Now the English call it Torpenhow Hill (Hill Hill Hill Hill)

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳
