To all the 🌹 reply-guys telling me I MUST VOTE LABOUR:

1. FPTP - 🌹 have never won in my constituency
2. Never gonna vote for a party that goes full-fash against immigrants
3. Your ‘saviours’ are polling at 17% 😂
4. It’s not a 2 party state
5. Fuck you, random internet person

Foolishly stayed up until 2am listening to #theashes on #TMS. No miracles, although nice to hear Joffra get his 50. Now feeling totally discombobulated, like the night after a big lash up (no alcohol was consumed).

It’s a strange form of masochism. Will be pleased when the tour is over!

Beautiful Sunday run with Freddie. 19.5km with a respectable 650m of vert along the Petit Balcons sud & nord.

Nothing as taxing as that which @alpinemigrant.bsky.social took on today, but I’m looking forward to the bowl of soup (sweet potato & lentil) ‘fait maison’ 😋

My last #trailrunning race of the season today at Les Saisies (1,600m) ski resort.

All on pistes through snow, lots of slipping & sinking. I ran well though considering I’ve been sick on & off since late Sept.

20km / 870m vert / 53/370 scratch, 4th in my age cat 💪🏼

First Nordic ski / ski de fond of the year. Just a short one to try & remember how it works. Perfecting the “Bambi on ice” look, but only one crushingly embarrassing fall which is a total result 😂

Had a disjointed week of training; 2 sessions missed due to the snow and one as I had a 2-day trip to 🇬🇧

Nice mid-long (90’ / 14km) run this morning in the snow. Have a race next Sunday which I feel a bit undercooked for. Used the micro-spikes today which felt fine, will need them for the race

Off to 🇬🇧 for a quick trip; uni mates annual (early) Xmas lunch. 20 of us who mostly graduated in 1995 😱

It’s normally in central London, but one the lads has MND & can’t travel, so this year the party comes to him in Surrey

Big question; can I drink in moderation under severe duress?

Got my results already; B2 (upper intermediate 🎉)

Great news as that will be the threshold from next year in case I do need to reapply for any reason.

Phew 😮‍💨- another thing ticked off the list
Have my French language (TEF-IRN) assessment today in Annemasse for residency application.

Meant to start at 9am. My computer didn’t work so pushed to 11.30am. Then have the oral test. Dog at home needs walking, kids picking up from school & it’s snowing.

Stress levels uncomfortably elevated!

I lost a friend this week. A dad from my son’s class, lovely guy, exceptional trail-runner & ski mountaineer. Not a close friend, but we chatted most weeks at the school gates or when we met on the trails.

He died suddenly, in a work accident. He was 40, his daughter was his world…. 1/2

Dog walk. Never seen so much snow in November.

Snowmageddon. Had to clear the driveway with a shovel just now to get out - cardio for the day done 😅, although the dog walk is going to get the heart-rate up too

This is a terrific piece that gets to the nub of things. How, in Mahmood’s fantasy, taking rights away from immigrants will somehow appease the racists.

It’s an easier fix than addressing the inequality & economic failures which are actually fuelling division

Autumn has to be my favourite season out here. Quiet trails, nice temperatures, often stunning weather.

Classic trail running route today for my weekend run; Chamonix - Flegere - Grand Balcon Sud - Charlanon - Cham

All with my mate Freddie 🐶

Yep, that’s two sessions that are going to weigh heavy on us. Losing 9 wickets for <100 runs then capitulating with the ball in the face of some aggressive batting.

All the positives of day 1 wiped away with significant additional interest.
A really good thing about this is that it's the sort of defeat that the touring side carry around with them for the rest of the series like a bucket of cold sick in the corner of the dressing room.

Mahmood finding any possible excuse for the racists (asylum seekers, immigration) rather than simply calling them out.

And also fails to mention the very obvious link between racism on X being rife & not only going unpunished but being amplified by Musk.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood made more explicit her argument that when ethnic minorities face racism, "we have no choice but to ask: what is the cause of our division"

Her answer is the level of net migration, 2019-23 causes racism. (She on Monday said it was caused by the scale of asylum)
