Ul’dah is canon for Aeran, but they weren’t new there at the beginning of ARR— they moved there from rural Thanalan a couple of years prior.
Yangir and Hlessi both enter the narrative later in ARR, so the starter plots aren’t canon. They both arrived through Limsa (which is Hlessi’s starter city.)

why the fuck can’t I find volunteer opportunities that 1) actually have openings 2) that I don’t have to ride transit for an hour to get to 3) aren’t run by a church and 4) aren’t just “let’s facilitate group therapy~”
I do not exactly live in a tiny town with no transit this should not be so hard

Every so often I get it in my head that I want to follow fellow gamedev people on here but it’s probably never going to happen cause I know from prior experience that I can’t keep up with having separate real person and fandom nonsense accounts and I cannot have my coworkers on the ocposting account

See the advantage I gain in spending a few minutes to look up and think through the solution to a code question rather than asking the Water Evaporator 5000 what the answer is is I get to be pretty sure that my answer is, yknow, correct.

I know people have (understandably) said that they're disappointed the SAG-AFTRA video game strike is still going on. So am I. But we need to be clear here--it's *entirely* the fault of the companies. Don't believe me? Here's what they're currently trying to force on us. I'd *never* agree to this.
It has been 194 days since @sagaftra.org actors started striking video games. In that time, we have signed over 150 games to Interim agreements, proving that our demands are more than reasonable. But the bargaining partners still refuse to give us anything more than lip service. (cont'd)
