There are baby steps I gotta do first like joining some org or other that I’m not trying to run, and finally properly introducing myself to my neighbors. Surviving my current work project’s biggest deadline that’s literally this week. It will not help if I panic myself into a corner first

There’s all these “how to start community action” posts going around rn that presuppose a fair amount about your social circle and capabilities and it kinda got to me. Locally I know like 8 guys I feel vaguely comfortable imposing on a little. I’m not affinity group leader material (yet, anyway.)

Okay I ate a sandwich and I’m less hunger rage/distress mode. Really what I need to find is some sort of volunteer search database, probably not while on my phone. It probably exists. There’s probably something I can get to. Someone will need an administrivia beast but not a car, or something.

and no disrespect to the mental health services that need volunteers I would simply be terrible at that and you don’t seem to have openings for generic office guy. surely one of you needs Menial Task Doer or Spreadsheet Desk Creature. Object Sorter. something. surely!!!
