Barely a mention in Canadian media as far as I've seen which is really frightening. The ex-leader of the conservative party put a target on a journalists back and now she's getting death threats.

I’ve dealt with this on a smaller scale before, which means I take a lot of safety precautions in my daily life.

Talk to your older neighbors about trans rights. Many of them are curious but nervous about seeming rude or ignorant. Describe what it's like to work in a building with unisex bathrooms. Complain about healthcare bureaucracy. Ask them if gender expectations have ever felt like a wall, or a trap.
