One of the many bitter pills to swallow is that there will be not one single consequence for Jerry Seinfeld basically complimenting the KKK and equating them to the phrase Free Palestine. There will be little, if any, media pushback. It’s terrible.

This is the story of how DOGE targeted Halimi on social media.

Then the Taliban took his family. 🧵

Our government shouldn't be able to consign people to conditions in a foreign country that would be constitutional violations, and criminal too, here.

Exactly: THe stories on what didn't get done bc Noem required her personal signature (in additional to call centers, the rescue teams) aren't stating clearly that one reason Noem is doing this is bc she's $1B over budget bc she has blown it all on kidnapping grannies.
Further context: If you’ve never dealt with FEMA after a disaster I can tell you they answer within 30 seconds. No hold times. Real live wonderful people who help while you cry and can’t even figure out what questions to ask. They walk you through it all. Every call.

My latest radio piece is a look at some of the flood victims in Orange County who lost their homes + spaces in Sunday night's storm. I'm *very* appreciative to all who spoke with me and shared their experiences, emotions and needs in the short-term.

We were downtown Chapel Hill right when the main part of the storm hit. East Franklin St., near Cholinad restaurant, flooded significantly so that it was impassible w/ cars stalled in the flood waters.

99% of amazon packages ever delivered were delivered by a government system that lets me mail a letter to the grand canyon for a quarter
“You can still be rich even if you’re not a billionaire!” Sure—and if you strip billions from someone like Jeff Bezos, he’ll invest less in building things that actually improve people’s lives. Amazon has done more for the average person than the government could dream of.

Really impossible to overstate how completely this guy has failed at every aspect of being an opposition leader over the past six months. Jeffries is a truly inspiring example for every soulless careerist who would rather be king of nothing than stand for anything decent in the world.
Hakeem Jeffries on Mamdani: "'Globalizing the intifada' by way of example is not an acceptable phrasing. He's gonna have to clarify his position on that as he moves forward."

a bold statement, to be sure! but on the potential eve of the senate passing some pretty aggressive attacks on renewable energy, i wanna explain…

Medicaid is the primary payer for 63% of nursing home residents. That's your mom, dad, grandma and grandpa.

So when the Senate Republicans cut nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid this weekend, think: are YOU going to be paying those nursing home bills, or are you going to be changing dad's bedpans?
