It is not about Kimmel or what he said. It is about the US government forcing a network to fire someone - no government should have that power. If the network decided this on their own, that’s one thing. But in this case they absolutely did not.

Kimmel didn’t even really say anything negative about Kirk. He noted the cynical and almost giddy exploitation of the killing by right-wing propagandists, absolutely accurately, and in gentler terms than I would have used.
