We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

Literally just lectured about this!

In the late 1960s, air quality was so bad in several cities they had to turn on the street lights during the day so drivers could see. And yeah, the Cuyahoga River was so polluted it literally caught on fire.
Oh, I don’t know. Our rivers no longer catch on fire and our air is far less poisonous than it used to be, even in smog bowls like Los Angeles. And I think those are good things.
If there’s no shale gas then there’s no shale gas, but I still think environmentalism is basically bad and politicians should focus more on material prosperity.

The problem is distributing free pdfs of the readings for groups of senior faculty, or for grad seminars, as if there was someone else who was buying the books, while "we" get them for free. When "we" don't buy the books, there isn't anyone else to pick up the cost of publishing them.
This is the importance of buying the books we write and teach from university presses. The same administrations that don’t care about the humanities would be just as happy to have academic publishing handled by these companies. We can save our own publishing ecosystem- but we have to do it.
"academic publishing is dominated by profit-oriented, multinational companies for whom scientific knowledge is a commodity to be sold back to the academic community who created it... The dominant four collectively generated... $12 billion in profits between 2019 and 2024."

She was a *child* when she did this and Olbermann preyed on her just a year or two later. We can hold her responsible for all of her later in life terrible grown-ass decisions, but this is a disgusting failure of the adults in her life to protect a CHILD.
Someone found an mp3 of the creepy "Jailbait" song Olivia Nuzzi released when she was 16 🫣

It’s recognizing that you cannot change the other person, and the other person does not want to change, but just because they like being cruel or controlling does not mean you have to tolerate it. It’s protecting the ones you have closest from those who model inappropriate behavior.

This is self-protection and enforcement of boundaries when the other person(s) trample boundaries. It’s refusing to get into an argument that will not result in a more productive and respectful relationship. It’s building the tools and time in process to step back and walk away.

And then don’t answer the door. If they have keys (WHY??) Change those locks or add a door chain.

Have a nice holiday to yourselves!
