We are enraptured with Camille Norton's poems. In millennial parlance, they are literary thirst traps: wild, allusive, down-to-the-bone funny, yet also dwelling places of grief & sorrow. Reading them, we want to laugh & cry all at once. Come hear Camille Norton's startling poems as she reads with

Important 🧵: Em Bee reporting from the front lines of teaching college writing. AI rolls through the classroom like an M4 Sherman Tank, destroying
any hope of cultivating an honest, playful, and creative academic environment. #AI #deathofcollegewriting
I think some common advice about responding to AI writing is very well intentioned and predicated upon teaching 10-25 students / term and not 60-125. The advice is "just ignore it if you can't prove it, give them vague feedback, and keep going."

Something wicked this way comes. OpenAI/ChatGPT is some bonafide evil shit. A TechHydra that must be destroyed. It’s no surprise that this monster came of age during Trump times.

Important & harrowing thread about the inhumane & criminal conditions in US deportation facilities, which are, let’s face it, concentration camps. 🧵
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

I’ve always wondered how loyal, old-school Republicans handled the cognitive dissonance generated by the party’s full-scale embrace of MAGA. Turns out not very well. Former Republican operative Miles Bruner explains the heavy-duty compartmentalization & mental hoop-jumping he did in order to stay. 🤥
Trump's assault "would not have been possible without the thousands of consultants, aides, and politicos working behind the scenes to fully execute their systematic dismantling of American democratic norms."
