In all the discourse of the housing crisis in Canada, why am I only learning now that Montréal doesn't have DCs?

For a 2-bedroom condo:

Toronto will charge $80,690 and the buyer will pay two land transfer taxes.

Montréal charges $0, and has one LTT…

In Toronto right now visiting family.

I told my Dad what DCs were in 2004, and asked him to guess what they were in 2024.

He said around 25k.

Every time I’m here, my family asks me when I’m coming back. I think they’re understanding now that I never will.

Toronto simply hates my generation.
