When a single billionaire can accumulate more money in 10 seconds than their employees make in one year, while workers struggle to meet the basic cost of rent and medicine, then yes, every billionaire really is a policy failure.

It’s so funny, there’s a long social media tradition going back 25 years of making a big deal about how you were going to quit, and then only being gone for like half a day.

I need to figure out the middle ground between “plan every day down to the minute” and “just vibe” bc I need to be productive but I foresee that the obsessive planning isn’t a forever solution

I want to thank Elon Musk for attacking Wikipedia for being a part of the internet he can't currently control. It reminded me to donate to support Wikipedia, the best remaining thing about the internet. You can donate here: donate.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?...

People sometimes make fun of science that sounds stupid and random.

Meanwhile, a study of lizard saliva turned into a peptide medication, which was turned into a diabetes medication, which was turned into a GLP1 weight loss drug, that just became the first therapy every approved for … sleep apnea
Breaking News: The FDA approved use of the weight loss drug Zepbound for a common form of sleep apnea. It is the first drug authorized to treat the disorder.

Writing is thinking.

It’s not a part of the process that can be skipped; it’s the entire point.
This is what's so baffling about so many suggestions for AI in the humanities classroom: they mistake the product for the point. Writing outlines and essays is important not because you need to make outlines and essays but because that's how you learn to think with/through complex ideas.
I'm sure many have said this before but I'm reading a student-facing document about how students might use AI in the classroom (if allowed) and one of the recs is: use AI to make an outline of your reading! But ISN'T MAKING THE OUTLINE how one actually learns?

This is the most embarrassing thing I have read in a long time. Like. I’d call them babies except our children are forced to be stronger and more mature than these weak ass turds since god forbid we do anything about school shootings.
Governor of New York Kathy Hochul has held a therapy session with 175 corporate reps, CEOs to "calm the nerves of the NYC business elite" in wake of Brian Thompson killing; promising state assistance for corporate security to combat "domestic terrorism," per POLITICO.

The objectively correct release schedule for Wicked part 2 is to have the Thanksgiving wide release and for Christmas, instead of a sing-along, to re-release part 1 in theatres as a double feature.

I found a gold-rimmed photograph of my 101 year-old Mom, taken when she was only 10. And I also found a gold-rimmed clock. So I hung them next to each other.

We say clocks measure time, but I’ve never seen a thing that doesn’t measure time, one way or another.

I saw Wicked again yesterday with my husband (a non-theatre person) and realized my main complaint about the first and second acts being split up is that because the first act sets up so many things that pay off in the second, it’s kind of impossible to discuss the plot without spoilers

Still getting used to this app. I just almost replied to the Onion “dairy free caesar dressing” because I forgot I was not in my browser and absently clicked the bottom bar. I can’t believe I’ve already reached the grandmas using facebook stage, absolutely devastating

The beauty of an empty profile. Like a field of new snow. It would be a shame to leave some footprints in the form of words……. oh dear, it’s too late now. But a trail of footprints through the snow creates a path! And maybe it will lead somewhere good. We’ll see.
