It's the same thing we say about Texas A&M's lack of games vs. top SEC teams this year. Nine conference games will help, but we also had Indiana last year.

This isn't really a Miami thing. Virginia didn't play Miami, Pitt, SMU or Georgia Tech. The draw of your conference schedule has too big an impact on the standings now, because they're too big. We don't actually know the best teams in a league anymore.

The idea that the highest-ranked team in a Power 4 conference (Miami) can miss the ACC title game and the CFP is embarrassing for the sport.

My favorite part, personally, is that conferences wanted at least 12 for the money a conference championship game would bring and then that game fucked over bubble teams in their conference. Masterful work.

The shark was jumped well before this. When Southern Cal @ Rutgers is a conference game, we were speed running towards something like this.
