This, again, is nauseating. (Used that term yesterday about firing of GEN CQ Brown, Chmn JCS)

@brian-goldstone.bsky.social 's forthcoming book is magnificent. I did a blurb likening it to J Anthony Lukas's 'Common Ground.' And it is set *in Atlanta.*

Buy and read the book. Resist the know-nothings
I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month.

This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate.

A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.
This is a shamefully racist movement that should be resisted by every person of good will.

@brian-goldstone.bsky.social’s forthcoming book is incredible and it’s honestly the archive’s loss (and the nation’s).

Tesla earned $2.3 billion in the United States in 2024.

You'd think it paid a lot in taxes, right?

Well it paid precisely $0 in federal income taxes last year.

You want waste and fraud? Look at what some big corporations and the rich are getting away with.
Tesla Paid Zero Federal Income Tax in 2024, Despite $2.3 Billion in Income
This brings Tesla’s average tax rate over the past three years to 0.4 percent.

Yes. More like this please.
Murphy: "We need to act like a real opposition party in the middle of a constitutional and democracy crisis. That means we should not be moving forward nominees or legislation in the Senate. Ds should not be giving votes to nominee or legislation in the Senate until Rs get serious about this crisis"

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad.

There’s not.

If this administration reminds of nothing else, it makes clear something I say all the time: race is the central organizing feature of American politics and American life. Nothing else comes close.

These fools can’t even talk about a tragic plane crash without talking about “DEI.”

This is exactly what we want to see from Senate Democrats. Russell Vought is the mastermind of Trump’s sweeping (and illegal) spending freeze, and his nomination should be withdrawn. Democrats are starting to fight back, and we need to encourage them to keep going: indivisible.org/resource/cal...

Another day another reminder that Donald Trump is ineligible to be President of the United States due to his actions on January 6th, 2021 and subsequent findings from Congress and courts that his actions (and inaction) amounted to insurrection. He doesn’t need to be convicted.

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.

Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
