You’ve probably heard about Planned Parenthood Southeast’s interim CEO, whose actions gave rise to concerns that the organization may have been subject to an anti-abortion infiltration. @susanrinkunas.com has previously unreported details today at @autonomynews.co:
Embattled Planned Parenthood Affiliate CEO Wanted to Halt Abortions
Sources level new allegations against Planned Parenthood Southeast interim CEO Mairo Akposé, who remains in her role after an investigation they call a "farce."

@michaelhobbes.bsky.social help, we bought lettuce with Elmo on the package and now my 4yo asks if he can get the "Elmo lettuce" 😭 I have two kids, so that's like a 50% success rate on Nudge in my house.

Listened to the Belle Gipson episode from @yrfatfriend.bsky.social and @michaelhobbes.bsky.social last week, and just saw Netflix released a movie about her? How does this keep happening with everything y'all mention? 😂

This is the circle I am trying to square between "this is a genuine improvement from last week and should be encouraged" and "for heaven's sake you're a member of Congress what are you afraid of"
I'm glad members of Congress are taking action and trying to enter these buildings, but they can't take no for an answer, even if it means getting arrested.
For the second day in a row, members of Congress tried to enter a federal building... again, of the federal government they are charged with overseeing and passing funding for... and were prevented from doing so.

This seems like a goddamn problem.

@michaelhobbes.bsky.social listening to an old episode of Maintenance Phase where you mention Predictably Irrational—have you seen the TV show based on the writer/book?

I don't think it's clicking for broke Trump voters. Baby, I can afford private school and private healthcare and all sorts of private services. I can afford to leave the country if I gotta, and I can help the people I care about leave, too.

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it.

“When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.”

Democrats who want to be relevant and have a future with the party, look at AOC, Jamie Raskin, Jasmine Crockett, Senators Van Hollen and even Murphy right now.

They're the ones calling it out, refusing to bend the knee, and reflecting the righteous anger of America against the broligarchy.

How can that possibly be? Very Serious People told me that he disavowed Project 2025 and I was being unfair to not believe him!
Isn't the actual headline story of the Trump administration so far that he's doing Project 2025 word for word?

I've said it before and I guess I'll have to say it 100 more times: the most undercovered story in America is how the richest man on earth is so obviously a Nazi, and every single person in media and politics has spent literally years trying to avoid noticing that fact as he revels in it.
After the Anti Defamation League called the salute Musk did at the inauguration event an “awkward gesture,” the group’s leader now condemns Musk’s follow up tweet explicitly making Nazi puns:

This is the game they ALL play: Musk, MAGA, Musk's army of fascist trolls. They'll say something awful and then they'll constantly dance around the fact of whether they said it or not. It's completely familiar fascist behavior

"President Trump must fire Elon Musk for the Nazi salute. If President Trump does not fire Musk, then the president either agrees with the message the salute sends or is too weak to stand up to Musk."

Something Democrats could have started posting Monday if they worked like the GOP.

When you're listening do people whose only response to Trump is "he can't do that" then you're ignoring the people who are telling you that there are ways that he can do it and that you should be preparing for it. I'm just saying.

I would caution people to stop relying on the Constitution as written to have any meaning other than what the people Trump put on the Supreme Court says it means.

"He can't do that" is not a useful response to the things he's going to do. The correct response is "Will the Court uphold that?"
Trump cannot abrogate birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment by way of executive order. That’s not how constitutional rights work.

Oral arguments are underway at the Ninth Circuit in U.S. v Moyle/Idaho, the case in which the U.S. government alleges that Idaho's abortion ban, with its exception only for life endangerment, violates a federal law called EMTALA, which requires emergency abortion care under broader circumstances.

Organizing a union while your kid is sick, your husband is sick, your parents are in town, you have four very complicated trials to prep for, your federal funders are auditing, and you have meetings across five counties

That's it, that's the vibe, it's just not a good one

I am so sick of this discourse. The question isn't whether random left-wing people do irritating things. The question is why Democrats are held responsible for the actions of the fringe left while Republicans are not held responsible for the actions of the fringe right.
There’s a “Dems use alienating campus language” discourse going on; I think it’s basically right. College-educated America — media, boardroom, Dems — does adopt language that other people don’t use and sounds odd to them.

Years ago, the AP replaced “illegal” with “undocumented immigrants.” (1/2)

Did Democrats get a shred of long-term political capital by gutting welfare in the 1990s? Republicans just keep saying it's too generous and promising to gut it even more.
