This is the circle I am trying to square between "this is a genuine improvement from last week and should be encouraged" and "for heaven's sake you're a member of Congress what are you afraid of"
I'm glad members of Congress are taking action and trying to enter these buildings, but they can't take no for an answer, even if it means getting arrested.
For the second day in a row, members of Congress tried to enter a federal building... again, of the federal government they are charged with overseeing and passing funding for... and were prevented from doing so.
This seems like a goddamn problem.

This is also happening at the national DV orgs, which is interesting, bc they didn't have layoffs before/during the 1st admin. Iirc, the funding remained pretty stable then (I was hired in 2018).

"Decided to tell a series of lies" is a very odd way to describe testing calls. They did the same thing housing discrimination testers do all the time—call and present a scenario to see if landlords are complying with the law. I don't think I've ever seen that described as lying before.

We need to figure out how to protect transgender people and fast, because whatever we're doing now isn't working. The misinfo is.

I don't read "grapple with" as "caving," though. Our electorate has gotten meaner and dumber! A handful of years ago, bathroom bans led to massive divestment from states that passed them, and that has changed for the worse.
