Love to see the respirator but if we should mask in crowded indoor spaces like airports, what about schools and hospitals? They are crowded indoor spaces too
Traveling for the holidays? Stay well on your way by wearing a high-quality mask like an N95 in crowded indoor spaces like airports and planes. Also wash your hands frequently, cover your cough or sneeze, and avoid traveling if you’re sick.

No one “deserves” to starve.

No one “deserves” to be homeless.

No one “deserves” to be abandoned.

No one “deserves” to be mistreated.

As a society we should be able to agree that food, healthcare & housing are basic human rights.

We should stop leaving people behind.

Please stay home if you’re feeling sick.

If you absolutely can’t stay home, wear a mask.

There are people who can’t afford to get sick. People without paid time off, people who are disabled or immune compromised, people who are caregivers.

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.
Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

As Vicky Pebsworth listed the groups she blames for the increase in HBV—gay men, promiscuous women, heroin users, Asian immigrants, and urban populations—it may be germane that she is a member of the National Association of Catholic Nurses.

Then again, it may not be.

I’m 56 years old, and for my whole life we’ve been asking some version of the question “what would WE, our generation, have done to stop the Nazis, either in Germany as they were rising, or around the world to fight for freedom.

Now we’re answering the question in real time. Each of us & all of us.

i’ve developed a specific blank stare for this. I think it effectively delivers “you’re making it weird bro”
I have encountered the same thing countless times in my life.

Fellow straight white men that I just met immediately assume I will laugh at/agree with their racist and sexist bullshit.

Breaking: Spain brings masks back.

Mandatory in hospitals, primary care, and long-term care—for patients, visitors, and staff.
Strong recommendation everywhere else.
Public health moving where evidence points.

Note: Really worth upgrading to respirators.

The science surrounding giving babies their 1st dose of #hepatitisB vaccine at birth is clear. The practice is safe and saves lives, a report released before this week’s #ACIP meeting shows. The committee has mused about delaying the birth dose. www.statnews.com/2025/12/02/c...
Expert review finds delaying the hepatitis B vaccine birth dose would increase chronic infections in kids
Delaying the timing of vaccinating infants against hepatitis B — which ACIP could vote on later this week — would likely lead to more chronic infections in kids.

This is also how COVID got loose.

We knew N95s were needed 👉before👈 day one (the 2006 recommendations of the SARS Commission say so directly). The 3-foot rule was known to be wrong nearly a century ago.

But medicine's dinosaur management class had to show us they're in charge, not scientists. 🙄
Happy International Women's Day!

A reminder that this specific screwup has now killed ~25 million people.

A world that allows an influential, entitled, ignorant man to just shout down a smarter and more knowledgeable woman 👉can literally kill you.👈

Some people don’t have family to feed them

Some lack access to a church that will accept them

Personal responsibility isn’t the solution to hunger

Many SNAP recipients work. 1.3 million are active duty military

The problem is low wages & high cost of living

Tax the billionaires. Feed the hungry

Too may people to name.
I’d add David Leonhardt and Emily Oster to the graf near the bottom listing supposedly reasonable mainstream people who made common cause with anti-vaxxers now destroying our health and medical infrastructure because Covid was distressing to them personally.
It *may* be dawning on the author of “In COVIDs Wake” that he’s done nothing but elevate MAHA/MAGA propaganda while faking being a “progressive.”

This is also true for every credulous news organization that platformed his revisionist history.

My latest.
