Just want to reiterate that there’s no reason for this. There is no increase in crime. There are no riots. There’s no insurrection. They’re doing this without provocation. At least until they create one.
“.. A top US military official has ordered the national guards of all 50 US states .. to form ‘quick reaction forces’ trained in ‘riot control’, including use of batons, body shields, Tasers and pepper spray, according to an internal Pentagon directive ..”

As important, or perhaps more so, as the size of the marches, is the nonviolence. NYPD announced there were ZERO arrests in NYC, and Austin PD said the same there.

yeah if an unmarked brown F150 pulled up on me and four dudes in plainclothes with rifles and face coverings jumped out I would 2000% assume I was being kidnapped to Culiacán and respond accordingly.

Trump is following the fascist playbook. Read the book How Fascism Works, and look at examples from history, and it becomes so obvious.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles, don’t let social or mainstream media gaslight you into thinking there’s a violent uprising taking place here. The Trump administration is trying to punish this state and this city. He’s also setting a precedent to unleash troops on Democratic cities.

This does a fantastic job of demonstrating the fact that flexposts do literally NOTHING to protect cyclists.
The number of people advocating for flex posts is astounding to me, just like the number of people advocating for free parking.

Important for all of us but especially journalists.
Kidnapping.

Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping.

Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking.

A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.
stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.

-You cannot legally deport people without due process.

-You cannot legally deport citizens.

-They are defining down deportation to break the law.
