My 2024 was almost beyond belief:

* The Reformatory continues to astound me with its reception. It took me seven years of pain to write and won a Bram Stoker Award, L.A. Times Book Prize, Shirley Jackson Prize, Chautauqua Award and was a New York Times Notable Book.

Readers: I am speechless.

one thing putting a smile on my face these days is working with engaging older and/or less able bodied people with access to political participation ie- voter reg. or finding resources for self ed -when in later life homes. Some time my (primary) focus of interest can veil other areas-try new stuff

Given the Trump admin's promises to slash federal agencies, this article by Fred Block seems very relevant again.

Being fearful of praising government initiatives makes politicians (& others) ill prepared to defend those initiatives when they come under attack.

I usually don’t miss Atlanta but phone banking for GA made me miss it. Most people answered with “Girl, you know I voted the first day of early vote.”And then they were on to how fun they expected the rally to be today w/ Victoria Monet & Spike Lee. Chatted like personal friends with 45+ people.
