When The Carter Center began leading the international campaign to eradicate Guinea worm disease in 1986, there were an estimated 3.5 million cases in at least 21 countries in Africa and Asia. Today, that number has been reduced by more than 99.99%. In 2024 so far there have been 7 cases.

I got whooped with a belt as a kid. I still acted out at school. There was a teacher who took the time to get to the “why” & actually talk to me. It did wonders. I needed a child psychologist not a leather belt used as a whip.
Just cause some of us got whooped doesn't mean it's OK. I got hit.
