My family and I, and the entire Japanese American community on the West Coast, were denied due process during our internment in WWII. It is a cherished, critical right for all people within the U.S.’s borders.

As the year ends, let me thank public school teachers who, under difficult circumstances, are doing their best to educate our kids.

If this country is to flourish, we need the best education system in the world. Let’s fight for a nation where teachers are well-paid & respected.

Firing a teacher for fear of retribution is why we'll have no teachers. Who would want to educate people who aren't even expected to get an education?

As it's a hot topic right now: We do not use any Gen AI or LLMs in any of our games & are not planning to.

So far its implementations have felt far from "necessary" & come with a myriad of ethical/environmental concerns.

But most importantly, we enjoy every step of the creative process without it.

Unbelievable. This would be a terrible blow to American science, writ large. It would decimate not only climate research, but also the kind of weather, wildfire, and disaster research that has underpinned half a century of progress in prediction, early warning, and increased resilience.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

The reason I won't use AI is that doing things and thinking is fun. It's that basic.

Great news that the Senate has passed the bill forcing the DOJ to release its Epstein file. Now Bondi must comply. But our work cannot stop there. We need to force the Treasury to release the Epstein bank records too. I have a bill to make that happen. FOLLOW THE MONEY.

If you like Brennan Lee Mulligan I recommend you listen to his character on Mission To Zyxx, an improv comedy scifi podcast with amazing production value and worldbuilding. He's in season 3 and he's basically the setting's Darth Vader. Every scene with him is gold.

The desperate need to accumulate more and more at the cost of everyone else’s wellbeing should be classified as a mental disorder, and I will absolutely die on this hill.
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

In Charlie Kirk's ideal US, him getting shot is a necessary sacrifice. In my world, it's a preventable tragedy. I have no interest in claiming his work helped anyone. Seeing a hateful, small-minded man getting lionized in his death is honestly deranged - getting shot does not change his views.

Most stories with racism metaphors fail to characterize how truly absurd it is to be racist. Imagine encountering aliens, and learning that they have had centuries of unrest about whether the same aliens with different antennas are inferior. How silly can you be?

I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

It's hard to understate how little respect I have for people like RFK. Imagine having the power and desire to help others, but being so tied up in delusion that you are only capable of harm. He chooses to hurt others by holding onto power. He could help others by resigning.
