The green/brown iridescent effect on the nipplesucker tentacles. I’d love to use this pigment in more sex toys, but it’s not body-safe so it can only be used for things that don’t go into a body. (The camera doesn’t really catch the bright sheen of the green.)

Progress on the Giger-inspired nipplesuckers for the alien tentacle violation pod! I’m experimenting with a new silicone colorant on the silicone covering the hoses. The tentacles are dark brown but with a shimmering iridescent green when the light hits them right.

The problem: Making the tubes for the goat milking machine look more like Cthulhu-esque appendages.

The solution: Cast silicone around the tubes. I’m sure there’s a better way to do this, but I printed molds with pegs the tubes could be stretched taut in.

I am so goddamn tired of that man. My metamour has received devastating medical news. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, I got plane tickets to see her with the rest of the polycule…and the shutdown may make it difficult to fly. I am sick of the pointless, mendacious malice.

Good heavens, a ton of new followers lately. Hello! I’m a kinky, polyamorous writer (nonfiction and fiction), amateur mad scientist, firespinner, photographer, maker, and general geek. I write about sex, infosec, design, philosophy, science, and…other stuff. If that’s your jam, pleased to meet you!

Blog post: Design as a proxy for legitimacy: I’ve finally trained my dad not to fall for online scams. A huge driver of these scams’ success comes not from stupidity or gullibility, but from the democratization of design during the DTP revolution.

Finished the second draft of a novel today! Eunice and I started working on it two years ago, gave up about 90k words in because we couldn’t quite get the narrative to come together (it’s written in two streams, one in present-day Buffalo and one in 1870 London), and I dusted…

Leaving for Springfield in two weeks, then on to the UK with my Talespinner. A metamour has received terrible medical news, so the entire polycule is coming together to support her. I am overwhelmed by gratitude for the assistance of complete strangers that has enabled me to go.

Is it weird to start watching a show because you like the art? Netflix recommended this to me and I have absolutely no clue what it’s about, but man, this is some OUTSTANDING graphic design right here. Whoever designed this needs a raise. I wanna meet the designer who did this.

Thanks to some incredibly helpful advice from a bunch of folks online, I’ve made excellent progress quieting the pump for the Giger nipplesuckers in the tentacle violation pod. Still not as quiet as I’d like, but making progress!

The good news: After a great deal of searching, I found some awesome perfectly transparent silicone ideal for making slime drips on the alien tentacle violation pod.
The bad news: it has to be ordered from China. 30-day delivery.
The worse news: Minimum order is 550 kilograms.

First test of the Giger-inspired nipplesuckers went swimmingly, save for one concern: they’re attached to a goat milker from Amazon, and the air pump is LOUD. The alien tentacle violation pod has a speaker to pipe in the sound of a heartbeat, so I’d like to make the pump quieter.

Halloween is coming! Seen randomly in downtown Portland.

Just read a screed online from a MAGA who says he’s carrying a gun everywhere these days b/c the Democrats got 40m people addicted to welfare, then cut them off so they would rise up together in November and murder every Republican, and I just don’t even know where to start.

WHAT I ORDERED: A single pot of silicone colorant.
HOW IT ARRIVED: A honkin’ huge box.

Giger-inspired nipplesucker sleeve for the milking machine in the alien ovomorph violation pod! Shown here coming out of the mold (yay!), on its own, and connected to a goat milking machine. #MadScience

If someone makes this for real, I am SO buying one. Just sayin’.

I taught my wife 3D printing and silicone casting and now I think she’s caught the bug. She keeps coming up with new ideas for things to make, and she’s also running into the limitations of FDM printing (like no open, unsupported void spaces inside a print).

The mold for the Giger nipplesuckers in the alien tentacle violation pod is taking shape! Since this is the biggest and most ambitious thing I’ve ever made, I’m shooting video of the construction, but I keep thinking nobody will be interested so it’s not worth editing together.

Just started 3D printing the mold for the HR Giger-inspired nipplesuckers in the alien tentacle violation pod! When I saved the file I actually mistyped the name as “nipplesucher” and somehow that seems kinda German but also kinda appropriate. #MadScience

Day 20 of the Great Portland War. The city lies in ruins, entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble. Armed drones fill the skies. Normalcy is a distant fading memory. Nothing will ever be the same again.

Blog post: AI Considered Silly (and Harmful): Would you like to know how to make an omelet? Yes? Well, I can’t tell you how to make an omelet, but here’s a paragraph about maintaining gas-powered wood chippers. We’re burning money for this?

AI Considered Silly (and Harmful) - Franklin Veaux's Journal
I don’t know when it happened. I know when I noticed it. I was using the Facebook app on my phone while I was in Florida working on getting a solar battery setup in my wife’s RV. “Huh, what’s this?” …...

Me: “Jesus, my social media is going nuts over the ovomorph. Who knew?”
Her: “Half your polycule.”

(It’s true. I’m like “nobody else is into this kink” and half my polycule was like “dude, you have NO idea.”)

Progress on the giant ovomorph tentacle violation pod! Had I known two months ago what I know now, I would’ve gone about covering it totally differently. This is two gallons of silicone, and it’s still not done. The window covering needs a redesign. Still, it’s getting there!
