We possess the technology to create products that nearly never break. We were doing it in the 70's & 80's.

Then came 'planned obsolescence' - intentionally designing products to become obsolete or break quickly within a set time frame.

A big mistake has been to refer to aid by estimated equipment value, instead of "$2.5 billion" it should have been "x amount of artillery rounds, ammo, used \ to be disposed of vehicles".

Pragmatism and general knowledge would have been beneficial instead of capitalist jargon.
