In a remotely sane world, Trump would immediately resign or be removed from office by his party, which should then demolish itself for having pledged its loyalty to this man.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The Christian persecution is coming from the WH.
UPDATE: Reached out to the Rev. Hannah Kardon, a United Methodist minister who was there that day and has been active in religious demonstrations at Broadview.

“They are making it clear that they are scared of prayer … it speaks the truth that what they are doing in that building is evil.”

The President wants to use the military to crack down on Americans who are exercising their 1st Amendment rights to oppose him. I can’t think of a better reason to insist on exercising those rights.

We should just call him Mike "Know Nothing" Johnson.

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

Kept it going into the early 2000s and convinced my mom to redecorate our bathroom with dolphins. Still have a few towels.
There was no better decade than the 90s to be an 8 year old girl who loves dolphins.

While Republicans are endlessly lecturing everyone else about civility and respect, part of civility and respect is following rules and norms, but the median American is 38 years old and in their lifetime Republicans have never let rules and norms stop them from doing what they wanted to do.
🚨 John Thune just hit the nuclear button.

The Senate is voting NOW on whether to change the rules and vote on nominees in blocs, rather than individually. The goal is to speed up Trump's nominees. It needs a simple majority to succeed.

Northern Ireland man from Lisburn kidnapped by Trump’s Ice raids because he “looked like a Mexican”. He had the correct visa, all his documents. He’s never been in trouble with police.

Held in terrible conditions. A fellow captive couldn’t get his medication and dropped dead of a heart attack
Horrors of Trump detention centre: Lisburn man tells his story after arrest for 'looking like a Mexican'

Lee Stinton was lifted by US immigration police on an American street — in an incident he compared to a kidnapping.

Here, he tells us his story.

What happens when ICE detains someone from the LAPD/LASD because they're "too brown" or because someone decides to submit a tip in retaliation? Will that finally get local cops to stop helping? Just a thought experiment.
"Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions" is a retrenchment essentially to a pre-Civil War understanding of the Constitution. It's vanishingly few steps removed from "Latinos have no rights which the white man is bound to respect."

One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys.

Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman.

There is no justification for this. None.
