With the recent news I am deeply disappointed and disgusted.

Disney would be nothing without human artists and with AI or not they will continue to be nothing without human artists. For that reason I don’t think this will last. I will no longer accepting assignments or work based on Disney IP.

my toxic trait is that I will wait until something is falling apart to replace it, but then I will still hold onto the ruined thing, and justify "I can still use it, though".

I wrote "chix" instead of "chicken" on my shopping list, and I feel like I have lost touch with my roots with that one.

It's way, way too easy to dunk this dude into oblivion, but I will leave it at: goog|e really doesn't care how much you know or think you know. They care that they are getting your data and your money, and that's about it.
guy in a legal advice reddit wants to know how to get out of paying google the money he owes them after vibe coding one of his apps into running 40 times a second for several days straight, but says it's not his fault bc they should have stopped him by making it harder to use

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

it's so deranged how rich business owners have demanded for decades that they be called "job creators" despite the fact that every single person i know has experienced a rich guy buying out an existing business and firing everyone and usually completely bankrupting it before cashing out and leaving

"they needed to hire multiple studios to do what the AI promised to do but was completely unable to perform, and are keeping it hidden from the public" is the real story here

like what are we doing at this point
So apparently, it may turn out that The Wizard of Oz at the Las Vegas Sphere wasn’t entirely made in AI and Google threw the VFX crew under the bus by claiming it was all done by artificial intelligence.

If true, then fucking yikes.

sorry to get political, but if they wanted to protect kids, they would feed them. they would invest in their education. they would build more parks, more programs, and invest in their future.

if they wanted to protect kids, they would build a world meant for them.
