It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Yes this is very good.
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥

Johnson is Sock Puppet
Johnson is, in fact, Trump’s sock puppet

I would LOVE to hear Marcie interviewed by @timmiller.bsky.social at The Bulwark!
You know, if @nicollewallace.bsky.social had not spread affirmative disinformation, if her spouse weren't STILL lying abt what happened in the first term, prosecutors would have less need to speak out.
@nicollewallace.bsky.social with breaking news!! Attorney for Jack Smith sent a letter to Jim Jordan saying he’d be happy to testify in public hearing

This is the nub of the vortex in which we find ourselves.
Normal presidents are well-advised to tune into media coverage as a check on internal administration groupthink and advocacy disguised as neutral info.

This president treats his highly partisan media feed as neutral, and organized his presidency to avoid any checks on that.
Former Presidents consistently talk about the difficulty of getting good information as President, how everyone has an agenda, is telling them what they want to hear, etc.

Most Presidents make some effort to mitigate that well-known problem, but Trump's like "moar bubble, I want only bubble."

Important
*NEVER* say that no one is standing up to Trump.

He's acting like a dictator. Some comply because they hate democracy and others because he's enabling them to do what they always wanted to do and fools comply because they're fools, but meanwhile plenty of people stand up to him and win every day.
OMG - the judge in Florida just sua sponte struck the complaint in the Trump v NYT case for -wait for it - violating Rule 8.

Lawyers, tell the folks at home how hard it is to get the complaint struck outright for something like that in fed eral court.

It’s clear that what radicalized a lot of these people was being an idiot or an asshole and facing consequences.
If this is what it took for you to be pushed into fascism you were probably already there

FEMA is preparing to send $608 million to states to construct immigrant detention centers as part of the Trump administration’s push to expand capacity to hold migrants.

The short term path is impeachment.

WOW, we failed at that twice, even before he doubled down his power over right wingers.

So the short term answer is, what is the short term path to make right wingers want a public divorce from Trump?

Hard agree
Once again I am calling for Democrats to introduce legislation requiring standardized uniforms, visible badge numbers with names, as well as a requirement for ICE and DHS agents to present proof that there is enough danger present to be masked to a judge when they get their warrant.
It really needs to be pointed out. As someone who has been to actions up to and inculdiong the uprising here in 2020 I have never seen every officer wearing fake name badges all with the name “the others” instead of their actual names.

A good nonprofit effort over the next 43 months would be to keep a running draft indictment of every Trump administration official, published and updated regularly, so it is ready to go in January 2029.

Warren wants Democrats to refuse to back the stablecoin bill Thursday unless it shuts down "this particular vector of corruption that the president has invented."
