If NSF-DEB funded…time to close up shop and look for positions outside of US.

This cannot stand.

NOAA’s vast public weather data powers the local forecasts on your phone and TV – a private company alone couldn’t match it
NOAA operates fleets of satellites, sensors on airplanes and ocean-going buoys, as well as radar, providing the data used by weather forecasters nationwide – and freely available to anyone.

Has anyone had a contract approved through a CESU (Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit - Dept. of Interior) since January? We submitted a bid in early Dec 2024 on a subaward for collaborative work with USGS (funding already in place - FY2024).

Just spoke to a local reporter on federal government firings and freezes/cuts to funding at environmental agencies (NOAA, USFWS, USFS, EPA, etc.) and effects it is having on science in the #GreatLakes region. I had plenty to say.
