How many times are Dems going to let the GOP stab them in the back before Dems learn that the GOP can’t be trusted to stay true to their word?
Republicans refused to negotiate a deal on health care until the government reopened.

Now they won’t back our plan to extend Affordable Care Act savings for 3 more years.

You can’t claim you’re for lower costs and oppose the bill to do it.

I was losing hope that @democrats.org would stand up to Trump before the govt shutdown. Then Dems refused to let the GOP raise healthcare costs and it seemed they had finally found the courage to fight. Dems willingly ended the longest shutdown in history over a 'promise' for a future vote.

Chuck Schumer *flushing the leverage down the toilet*: “What?”

Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

After hating on his boiler-plate, consultant-written tweets, I’ve got to hand it to Chuck. This one is good.

Bravo.
Someone like JD Vance, who has been on the receiving end of a lot of insinuations, should know to couch his language more carefully.

Anyways, I’ll be here, ready to make a deal to save Americans’ health care and reopen the federal government that Republicans shut down.

If Congress shuts down and stops working, how will we be able to tell?

I can’t help but think that @democrats.org don’t care about saving our Constitution. Their entire focus on the shutdown is saving health care as the president declares war on democratic cities.

New HUD.gov homepage, didn’t think agencies were supposed to be partisan but I also never thought we’d have a president actively overthrowing the constitution.

Pritzer gets the mechanics of authoritarianism – systemic intimidation, seizing control of elections, etc. – in a way others in national democratic leadership don't or won't say out loud.
Pritzker: "One of the reasons Trump wants to send troops into cities is bc he wants to be able to take control of the 2026 elections...if they've got troops in cities, & it becomes a kind of norm for people, then it won't be abnormal for them when they're going to vote having troops at ballot boxes"

New reporting shows that Tom Homan was under internal investigation after accepting $50,000 in cash from the FBI last year.

The case was then dropped after Trump assumed office.

Democratic leadership have been quicker to criticize the firing of Jimmy Kimmel than they were to condemn Trump when he threatened to send National Guard troops to Chicago.

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Congressional Democrats can’t decide if they should cut a deal with the pedophile dictator who is trying to militarily invade their cities.

Seems like a fairly obvious choice to me, but what do I know.

It’s clear that the upcoming government funding deadline is one of the biggest opportunities yet for Democrats to fight back. The only question is if they’ll do it.

I think media and many Dems are brainlocked into treating Trump as a politically strong figure because they mistake the consolidation of autocratic power for political invincibility.

But we shouldn't do that. He's both an autocrat and a ludicrous, inept figure. 5/

Not surprising with how Trump/DOGE cleared out all of the experts from every agency. Then, you also have OMB’s Russell Vought and other administration people keeping firm control on what gets published/done at each agency to ensure it aligns with Trump’s goals.
