In Chicago they've been a nightmare. I've watched one block a sidewalk for 37 minutes because it broke down. I saw one cause an accident with a cyclist and just drive away.

I've watched People in wheelchairs have re-route because they're in the way.

Yet to meet someone who liked them here.

Thanks to the @nypost.com for letting me check an item off my bucket list (“be the target of a meaty hit piece by a world-class NYC tabloid”) and for highlighting @transalt.org proposals for better walking, biking, & transit!

More nice ideas here:

the times has a detailed new roundup of all the proposals to fix the triple cantilever, but it neglects the most likely and viable option (part of it collapses before anyone starts digging and we can finally plan to remove the bqe) www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

In Oslo, four articulated buses trapped themselves in a roundabout yesterday.

"I don't know what I'm most impressed with: That they managed to get into the situation, or that they got out of it."

Say what you want, but Mayor-elect Mamdani's transportation transition committee is absolutely fantastic. Having a roster of people who have written reports on how to make subways cheaper, along with the biggest pedestrian and transit advocates in the city, makes me very happy.

NJ leaders who hated on congestion pricing notably silent on PATH fare hikes
The PATH fare is set to rise from $3 to $4 over the next four years.

I've had zero to do with it other than watching as an Orange Line rider, but rapid implementation of dropbacks on the OL is one of the coolest things I've seen in my time at the MBTA. From a process improvement exploration project to full-bore implementation in just a few months.
