Other, more serious countries have actual constitutional courts.

We, however, have a 9-member super-legislature with total veto power over the chief executive & both houses of the parliament.

A “Republic,” if you can keep it 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House.

When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases.

For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.

Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.

Woah. Conservative talk radio KTAR was just railing against the AZ GOP’s school voucher scam that robs public schools & taxpayers to benefit private schools and wealthy families. But no reforms whatsoever to rein in this reckless program in the current state budget proposal. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Videos of Senator Alex Padilla being violently removed and then forcibly detained while simply trying to speak at a press conference are completely bone-chilling.

This is the Trump Administration's authoritarian security force in action–shoving a SITTING SENATOR to the ground.

It’s not deporting, if you’re sending citizens to another country. It’s human trafficking. In this case, it’s also slave labor. You’re talking about an administration selling US citizens into slave labor.

Before DOGE took control of USIP, the duly appointed president was George Moose, a career diplomat who first joined the foreign service in 1967.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Trump just signed an exec order purporting to require a passport (or a few other docs) to register to vote. The president doesn't have the power to override a law passed by Congress. This is the SAVE Act but much worse. It is an illegal power grab that would block tens of millions from voting.
