This is what happens when you replace miners with microbes.
Liz Dennett and her team at Endolith extract copper using biology, not bulldozers.
More copper, less environmental impact.

If we make it through this dark period with democracy intact, it may be because the administration's incompetence was greater than its depravity.

The #blueorigin flight has people talking about women in space.

My favorite: Genuine badass Dr Kathryn Sullivan

As real as they get.

I have a new show I’m hosting with my friend Neal. In our first episode, we talk about how the rules and the consequences only seem to apply to a few.

if we had an effective dem party, starting 8:30-9 this am, every dem on capitol hill would be on this story. they'd be calling for hegseth and waltz and the rest to resign, theyd be calling on trump to come clean with the people about what else they leaked. they'd be pushing for investigations etc

The way Charles Ponzi dramatically reimagined finance. Or Jeffrey Dahmer reimagined dining.
I found it distressing this afternoon when a CNN reporter said President Trump had spent the last six weeks "dramatically reimagining presidential power."

What matters in this moment is not where someone lies on the political spectrum, but whether they have a fighter’s temperament and the courage to stand against Trump. Cheney has it. AOC has it. Mills might have it. We can debate policy when we aren’t in a street fight with a bunch of skinheads.
