I suggest this will have little to do with the essential gosple of Jesus.
We are reading and discussing the book “How to End Christian Nationalism” by Amanda Tyler in our church’s adult forum after services each Sunday. I recommend this book. 2/2

A Christian Nationalist service is going to be performed in Phoenix today. They have their martyr. Charlie Kirk. He will be “sainted” at that service. Christianity will be co-opted to serve political purposes at that service. Marching orders will be suggested at that service. 1/2

The latest thing Trump has done to DC: Scare the visitors away. Damaging all the businesses, large and small, that depend on them.

Along the National Mall today, 1pm, on a stunningly beautiful Saturday afternoon in late August.

Trump and Elon just cut off all Federal Funding for Lutheran Social Services, Lutheran Family Services, Lutheran Immigration Services, Pacific Lutheran University and Washington State University. Bit by Bit they are deconstructing our country and what we say we stand for.

People want to blame someone. Obama, Biden DEI.
None of them are to blame. It was a tragedy. What Trump is to be blamed for is not showing the families who have received the most horrible news in their lives that he understands a great loss has come to them. That he is so sorry this has happened.

No Inaugural crowd size debates this year. Just announced, the Inaugural is going to be moved indoors. Sorry for all you folks who got tickets or paid for tickets to the Mall to watch your leader take the "Oath".

Trump speaking at Turning Point USA conference: “He's [Elon Musk] not going to be president, that I can tell you. And I’m safe. You know why? He can’t be, he wasn’t born in this country.” [nervous laughter]

Someone’s getting HUGELY scared.

I am a fan!
A couple people have asked me whether I really think of The Bulwark as a magazine. I do! And not in some quaint, retro sense.

A magazine is a model for building an audience with shared interests and connecting it with a range of writers worth reading and thinkers worth learning from. That's us.
Tired of media outlets that leave you angry at their groveling owners? Or cringing with embarrassment at dumb editorials?

Want to hang out with writers and thinkers who will annoy you 60% less? Maybe 65% less on a good day. Who will help you see around corners?

Well have I got a magazine for you:

Good morning and Happy Tuesday to everyone who wishes the media would grow a spine and learn to interview the lying piece of shit properly the way Barbara Walters did fearlessly back in the day.

She was prepared for his lies and HANDLED him.

Stop sanewashing his crazy bullshit.

I have my dad’s war diaries. He was in the National Guard on December 7th and stationed in Louisiana. I have his entry into the first one where he expressed his feelings about the attack. The next day entry on what may be coming for him next. Guadalcanal was his first combat stop.
