So, y'all are ok with ensuring SNAP beneficiaries continue to starve and are blaming the entire Democratic Party for the actions of 7 (out of 47) Democrats and one Independent.
Gotcha. I see your privilege.

So have the Republicans won ANYWHERE tonight?
Think Republicans might be considering that maybe, just possibly, closing down the government right before an election was not a great idea?
(Except Mike Johnson. He doesn't know anything about that. Or anything.)

So what are the chances that Mikey's looking at the results tonight and decides to fold? Slim, or none?
(This presumes he actually knows about it, of course.)

I keep seeing "We have a two party system, and that's the problem."
No, we do not have a two party system. If we did, there would only be two people on any ballot. There would be no independents, no Greens. No Libertarians. Just two! Republican and Democrat.

If you're an older Mainer or a single parent, someone with a disability, or someone with a busy schedule, Question 1 would only make it harder for you to cast your vote.
That's why I voted no on Question 1 today!

If you're in Maine and eligible to vote, I really hope you are going to the polls to vote NO on Question 1 to protect our early voting (technically absentee voting) rights. And YES on Question 2 to help keep us safe from another possible Lewiston.

Maine Democrats: let's set aside the war over Graham Platner for the next two days to concentrate on the fact that there is an election tomorrow on two important referendum questions.
NO on 1
YES on 2
The first is about restricting absentee voting second is about gun access.

Opinion: Graham Platner lacks judgment and integrity needed in a Senate candidate

Could someone who understands campaigns better than me explain why a candidate for a state primary has a NATIONAL finance director? I could see it for the general, since it's the Senate, but the primary is and should be a local/state focued race.
Another top campaign person resigns from Platner campaign. This raises the question of who exactly IS running this multi million dollar campaign?

Graham Platner’s campaign thought they could silence me by offering me money and calling me a liar in the press.
I was going to let it go.
It has become increasingly clear they are unfamiliar with Maine women.

Platner's parents are reportedly Democratic/Progressive activists who are big donors to progressives (especially Bernie). Surely THEY would have known and told him? It's so hard to beleive that every single person in his life for the last 18 years was ignorant of what that tattoo was.

How is it that Janet Mills, Governor of Maine, former AG, former Maine House member, and Senate contender, only has 511 followers? She can beat Susan Collins in 2026! Let's help her do that!
Susan Collins has never been more vulnerable. This is our chance to retake this U.S. Senate seat and give Maine people a fighter for them in Washington.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand the Maine Senate (and governor) race. Maine Public's "Maine Calling" show today discussed the senate races and Mills and platner and even address the age issue. Well worth a listen.

Jokes about rape and racism are not jokes, Graham. That you are calling them "joke comments" say a fuckload more about you than the simple fact that you said them. Instead of owning up and apologizing, you are dismissing them as unimportant. They are not unimportant.
“Most were stupid joke comments”.
What am I supposed to be laughing at when a scumbag former Blackwater contractor says rape survivors need to “take some responsibility for themselves & not get so fucked up they wind up having sex with someone they don’t mean to”?

Graham Platner asked why Black people 'don't tip' and referenced rape in old Reddit posts
Platner's past comments came to light the same week that Gov. Janet Mills joined the Democratic primary for the right to face Republican Sen. Susan Collins.

What really blows my mind here in Maine is that the Left watched a man with zero political experience get elected and proceed to royally fuck up this country. Then they decide the best candidate to beat Collins is an oyster farmer with zero political experience.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
