Eve Baer never stopped believing that her son, unresponsive for decades after a severe brain injury, was still there. Eventually, science proved her right. @sarahzhang.bsky.social reports:
Is Ian Still In There?

This should be seen as evidence of the crisis: federal judges fear that Trump will order U.S. Marshals to stand down on securing the safety of judges whose decision they don’t like. This is just devastating.

Wow. This is major news. Judges discuss moving the U.S. marshals from the executive to the judicial branch. Not only would they protect judges from trump threats, but it would also make it easier for courts to order marshals to carry out court orders.
“Judges Weigh Taking Control of Their Own Security Amid Threats” — because the Marshals answer to Trump, per this extraordinary scoop from @WSJ.com www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...

The stock portfolios of more than two dozen members of Congress outperformed the market in 2024.

This isn't due to luck or skill.

Lawmakers can use privileged information to trade stocks while they’re supposed to be working for you.

Make no mistake, it’s legalized corruption.

Conservatives have understood at a visceral level for 70 years that the defeat of fascism by the liberal order was destructive to their legitimacy. So while many tried to write themselves into the history of liberalism, others tried to rewrite the history of fascism. The latter camp is now ascendant

Americans are pissed — and anyone ignoring that is making a big mistake.

New Mexico made childcare free. It lifted 120,000 people above the poverty line
The state, which has long ranked worst in the US for child wellbeing, became the first and only in the country to offer free childcare to a majority of families

I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

I’m in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, today, deep red country—remember the video of the woman being dragged out of a town hall by goons? That was here. Town of 44 k. 1,000 turned out to protest. North of here, in even more extremist county, smaller town, 700. That’s a little good, brave news.

And THAT is why the fighters are going to win.
Very much this. Very visibly we have the Dems like AOC hitting the streets and firing up the base, and you have the establishment Dems urging decorum as the ship sinks. We need to get behind the fighters and toss the decorum folks over the side.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?
