A truly uninteresting person. You should probably not follow.

Just in from Brett Kelman with @kffhealthnews.org:The Tennessee government quietly lowered the standards for Ballad Health, the nation’s largest state-sanctioned hospital monopoly, despite years of patient complaints and quality-of-care concerns.
Ballad Health’s Hospital Monopoly Underperformed. Then Tennessee Lowered the Bar. • Tennessee Lookout
Despite years of patient complaints , Tennessee data that holds Ballad Health accountable twill be kept from the public for two years.

West TN had to postpone due to tornado threats and flooding but Middle and East Tennessee came out to say #Handsoff yesterday. Nashville actually had two pro-democracy events at the same time (Hands Off Rally and Elizabeth Warren Town Hall) and lots of other cities and towns joined in as well!

This is very obviously going to be a protection racket, where Trump can at the stroke of a pen destroy or save your business depending on how compliant you are.
Exempting USMCA-compliant auto imports from tariffs would lessen the impact of Trump's trade war, sparing ~$122B in imports (~$170B if parts are exempted)

But it just highlights the ridiculousness of this whole endeavor—why exempt cars but not oil, tomatoes, computers, etc etc?

LASZLO: Play “La Marseillaise.” Play it!
I feel like I know my Bluesky audience pretty well, but just in case some of you have (gasp!) never seen Casablanca and therefore never had the heartsplitting experience of watching a bunch of real life European refugees stand up and drown out fake Nazis by singing the Marseillaise go fix that soon.

“hole in the ozone layer” levels of erasure. my mom was a project manager who busted her ass for years to make sure IBM was ready for Y2K and completely succeeded, only for it to get turned into a late night joke. funny how the stories of mass collective action to avoid disaster rarely get told
DAMMIT NPR.

I spent nine months upgrading over TEN THOUSAND desktops at a F500 client. The grand total was over SEVENTY THOUSAND applications upgraded.

Y2K "didn't live up to the hype" because the industry busted ass to duct tape everything first.

Also, courage is contagious. I continue to stand against American fascism in the hope that others will take heart, too.
