Today is the day that Zohran Mamdani truly became president
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao

Oh my god. Total capitulation to Mamdani was not at all on my bingo card and I am 100% here for it.
Q: would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani administration ?

TRUMP: I would. I really would.

This is actually not the most shocking part of this story. The officers are caught on tape repeatedly talking about their desire to shoot him or smash into him all because he was filming them.

On a call with the ADA consultant where we just had to take away (blank off) an electrical outlet in a kitchen because it wasn’t accessible. There are already enough accessible outlets but apparently we can’t have an extra that is not.

When Border Patrol showed up across Charlotte, parents and neighbors rushed to Berryhill to meet kids at the bus stop. They stood watch, linked arms, and made one thing clear: if the city gets targeted, its children will not face it alone.
This is what community looks like.💙

and here i think the evidence is overwhelming that the artificial scarcity of housing which presses most severely in those places that are producing the most good jobs is, in fact, pretty bad for people

The fight has come to NC, and it just hit close to home. Our daughter teaches in Durham public schools and she said almost all of the Latinx kids are not in school today. ICE is targeting everyone who "looks Hispanic", citizen or not. I am even more angry today-kids need to go to school!

“Get to Know ICE!” lmao 💀
It's just that if ran a resort and convention center in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area in 2025 I'm not sure I would name my holiday festival simply "ICE!"

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

You may be wondering how I got here. It all started with the first black president.
November 15, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Yeah I’m not sure it’s getting enough attention that a freaking European head of state just bribed the US president with a literal *bar of gold*.
See that Rolex clock and gold bar?

It looks like those Swiss gifts paid off.

Trump cut tariffs on Swiss goods — like luxury watches — from 39% to 15%.

While Trump’s tariffs increase prices for Americans, billionaire CEOs and foreign companies sucking up to Trump get relief.

The thing about coming to Charlotte is that the protests here are likely to be fairly small and tame and the media market is just so much smaller. I think the mission here is to find a way to damage Roy Cooper. I suspect they will fail.
Bovino & Co. were sent to Chicago to terrorize the community while DHS created content—not mass deportations. They're a strike team that built a template for laying seige to an unwelcoming city, both the initial attack and the response to resistance.

Relief for us is another city's incoming pain
I understand the impulse but I don't really feel celebratory about the idea of the feds leaving Chicago if they're just going to take this terror campaign to another community somewhere else
