In 1973 - NCI, an institue of the NIH, helped fund a clinical trial showing Cisplatin can cure testicular cancer.

The NIH is the reason I’m alive today. Their funding model may not be perfectly efficient, but it’s essential for research.
Stop the NIH funding cuts.

Good read about the illegality of what NIH is trying to do
Indirect Costs at NIH . . .
I wasn’t planning on spending part of a Saturday writing about cost accounting principles and the like, but NIH-world was hit with a doozy of a policy announcement on Friday night:

Helpful table to determine how much your University or health system is set to lose if the NIH indirect cap is suddenly lowered to 15%. For SJSU it is $374k which is on the smaller end but devastating considering our other budget issues. datawrapper.dwcdn.net/l0ZqA/8/

NIH doesn’t just support infectious disease research—it drives breakthroughs in cancer, childhood diseases, heart disease, diabetes & more.

Thanks to NIH, we have:
💉 Cancer immunotherapy
❤️ Cholesterol-lowering statins
🩸 Insulin for diabetes

Investing in NIH = investing in life-saving discoveries.

Amid today’s massive NIH cuts to universities, please know that my research colleagues:

- Develop new cancer treatments for kids
- Are curing sickle cell disease
- Build new tech to help premature babies survive
- Prevent teens from dying of drug overdose
- And more

The "peace candidate" Trump wants to force 2 million Palestinians from their homes, give another $1 billion in weapons to Netanyahu, and enact a "plan" to turn the decimated Gaza strip into a billionaires' Riviera.

If this is his "peace" policy, I'd hate to see his war policy.
