It occurred to me that two songs I haven't heard this holiday season are Elvis' "Blue Christmas" and Andy Williams' "Happy Holiday (It's the Holiday Season)." I usually consider those songs to truly signal the arrival of Christmas.

One of my favorite concert photos: Thom Gimbel of Foreigner, playing the saxophone solo in "Urgent," at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the Woodlands, Texas, circa 2013.

Even though Shout is my personal anthem, my absolute favorite track on Songs from the Big Chair is The Working Hour. Deep lyrics, masterful production, and the saxophone solo make this the most moving song on the album.

The next 4 years will be like a boat trip. To use some musical metaphors, at best the voyage will be on the Sloop John B. At worst, the ship will be the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I second that!
If aliens came down to earth and asked for my opinion on who should rule the earth, I'm going with librarians and Dolly Parton.

As a Tears for Fears fan, I'm developing a greater appreciation for Songs from the Big Chair. Lately, it seems the songs fit the era we now live in.

Few things annoy me more than a supercenter parking lot the week of Thanksgiving. It's running a gauntlet.

Just a reminder that there’s an app available for your TV called PBS RETRO where you can watch all sorts of wonderful old pbs shows like Mr. Rogers and Reading Rainbow, you know, in case you might need that sort of energy right now

This is your reminder to get a library card. They have so many services and basically all of them are free.

Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

Ever notice that the bottom of your bag of gingerbread men cookies becomes an assortment of amputated gingerbread limbs, heads, and torsos? It's a Christmas massacre! 😜
